On Sunday May 22nd, Pockets Full of Sunshine are participating in a special event, the Hilton Head for Ukraine Benefit. Lowcountry artist Jessie Renew has created a meaningful design that the Rays will be printing for the event, all proceeds of which will be donated to The Community Foundation of the Lowcountry’s Ukraine Relief Fund. More details will be coming closer to the event date but we will welcome Ray help at our Pockets tent and hope you will all join us there.

The PFS May Sunshine Social will take place on Friday May 20th and should be lots of fun! A movie and picnic at Buckwalter Place Park! Christine Strong will be leading this event and those of you who have not yet had the pleasure of meeting her are in for a treat as she is a fabulous new addition to our sunshine family. The next Parent Led Bowling event will take place on Wednesday, May 18th from 3-5 at Station 300 off Buckwalter Parkway. We must have at least 16 attendees or the bowling alley will cancel. If you sign up for a spot, please understand that it is also your commitment to pay for the games, even if you are unable to attend (unless someone is able to fill your spot). Station 300 requires payment for a minimum of 16 participants and last month the organizing parent was required to pay for several last minute cancellations out of her own pocket and we absolutely do not want that to happen again. We hope this will be not only a fun activity for your Ray but also a chance for all of our wonderful families to connect and build community with one another! PFS will be crafting and socializing at First Presbyterian Church (540 William Hilton Parkway) on HHI on Sunday, May 15th from 1-3. All Rays are welcome as are all volunteers!

The Pockets Full of Sunshine Annual Family Meeting will be on Saturday May 14th at the home of Pat and Lynn Ciccantell who are once again generously opening their doors to members! All staff and current or prospective PFS Families are invited to join us, and your Ray is also welcome to attend. The purpose of this meeting is for us to provide updates and information, and for your voices to be heard as well. Here comes the 42nd Anniversary of Mayfest coordinated by The Rotary Club of Bluffton! This great event which will feature more than 150 artists and food vendors, including Full Spectrum Studios, a studio space dedicated specifically for and to individuals with disabilities.

Mayfest, also known as The Bluffton Mayfest, is considered one of the best hometown festivals in the country and ADMISSION IS FREE!! Get ready for an outstanding event featuring local and regional arts and crafts, great music, and delectable local foods up and down the street, our hilarious Ugly Dog contest and the messy, funny, pie eating contest. This year’s featured artist is Kelly Logan Graham.
